During the children’s class, we involve games as well as Karate techniques.

All the games are karate related: helping with coordination, speed, agility, and awareness.

Our adults classes are designed to meet everyone’s needs, including basic techniques, body awareness, fitness.

Even though our tots classes is for 2-5 year olds, we understand that all children are different and not happy to go into a bigger class at 6.

We are happy for that child to stay in the tots class, and we will slowly incorporate the child into the next class.

We have several coaches available which can work with smaller groups to help this happen.

Each child can benefit in different ways.   It is a good social, family feel at TKW, and your child can benefit from gaining friends, confidence, core strength, awareness and agility.

If your child attends the Tots class, then yes we like you to stay, but not necessary in the room.

Our reception is next door, with a viewing window. You enjoy a coffee or even go into our gym which is next door.

We like parents to stay around in case of a quick toilet run.

If your child is in the children class, which is upstairs, you can stay if you would like either in the dojo or downstairs enjoying a well earned coffee break, or use our gym.

In the reception area we have a TV, linked to our CCTV – showing you how hard your child is working.

Karate is a Japanese martial art whose physical aspects seek the development of defensive and counterattacking body movements.

The themes of traditional karate training are fighting and self-defense, though its mental and moral aspects target the overall improvement of the individual.
